The Writer You Can’t Ignore

The Making of R.B. Rouge
I’m from Southern Louisiana, and that place shaped my eye, my voice, and the way I make things.
I published my first novel at twenty-four in 2005. Since then, I’ve written across genres, including children’s books under another name, and built a body of work that reflects the full range of how I think and create.
I’m not only a writer. I’m an artist, a visual storyteller, and a designer.

What matters to me is the making. I like to take what exists in my head and give it form with enough precision, texture, and style that it carries my signature no matter the medium.
Southern Louisiana gave me a strong sense of imagery, contrast, rhythm, and atmosphere. That influence runs through everything I create. The setting may change. The medium may change. The voice does not.
R.B. Rouge is the result of years of writing, building, experimenting, and refining. My work is shaped by imagination, discipline, instinct, and range.
I’ve never been interested in staying in one category I create in the form the vision calls for.
That’s the making of R.B. Rouge.
