Reagan wasn’t in office yet. The curriculum designed to soften my generation was still being drafted. Charlotte Iserbyt — Senior Policy Adviser inside the Office of Educational Research and Improvement, U.S. Department of Education — was watching it get written from the inside, keeping notes on everything she witnessed.
